Step 1: Take mani apart
Step 2: Pull Butterflies Out
Step 3: Put mani back together
Step 4: Enjoy

^Indeed. Yes it will work good for you. As for passing emissions, have fun doing that even with the butterfly's in. It can be done, but it isn't always so easy. Just get a fake.

well I have passed my emissions test because I made everthing plug and play it takes me 30 min to set it up. my brother told me to just take the butterflys off but i will take the whole thing off and just change the bolts and studs around to make it fit. thank you for responding did you notice any difference with them out at a idle or WOT

some n/a guys just remove the plate and have the upper plenum bolted to the runners and see gains. i suggest that. by reducing your runner length it will also move your powerband up in the rpm range.

Also, when you remove your iab plate the phellum, and manifold don't match up perfectly. You have to plug a small section.

The intake manifold nuts are pita to reach. You might as well add a hondata gasket, and do some porting if you remove.

You might notice a difference at idle, and you will lose just a little bit of low end jam. Better you do it now before your car gets tuned then afterwards.

well it probably has no function for emissions but there is a sensor at the bottom of the intake and when i switch back to my 0bd2 computer with my vtec hack it might throw a code plus the egr is activated by vacuum and the way the intake is designed it could trow a code but this is not a big deal.

my motor made over 600whp with the butterflys but I have recently removed them and the shafts and welded up the holes on the ends because I also agree with you they may be holding us back.

Butterflies won't fail you on inspection for emissions unless there are other things out of whack in which case it isn't likely that it's the butterflies that are causing you to be out of spec for emissions.
