Two tens will basically take up the back half of your trunk. One twelve would take up half the back half of the trunk. Or side, or wherever you so decide to put it. Alot of people will have different opinions on whats the best and whats not. But really, they all do the same thing. Some are just better quality. For good quality bass, your want a sealed enclosure, for loudness, and the "thumping" you want a ported enclosure.

Check out the12volt.com (good info) and sonicelectronix.com (great deals) read and figure it out. 1 12" could sound better than the 2 10"'s and vice versa, all depending on watts. find a sub, its ohm rating. Then find an amp that supply it with the right amount of power (RMS!!!! No Max Watts. Max wattage means nothing) I have one 10" in my 3g. Running a 400W and its loud as hell. loud enough for me.

Heres a few vids for reference: Sorry for shitty quality, they dont really do it justice:

(Shows how bad it fucks my trunk)

(That one scares all my friends) =P

Basically its a matter of what you listen to? How loud? And how much storage room your willing to sacrafice.

Hoped that helped, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

That's all up to how much trunk space you're willing to give up. Someone in here is trying to cram 4 12"s in a 3g trunk (cudaboy is that you?)

I'd say two 12"s would probably fit in a sealed box without too much headache.

Power bass, image dynamics all of which I have heard and helped install. Don't get caught up in "name brand" stuff. Dont get me wrong there good and all but power bass is very good.. My buddy has one 12 with a custom fiberglass box. Hits harder and sounds way better than 2 12" jl audio subs.

It's all in the right amp and box.. Shitty box equals shitty sound..

My buddy gets all this at cost. This is his side job, custom audio and building cars.

When it comes to subs there are three things that matter.

Power, sensitivity, stroke.

Notice brand name isn't in that list.

well today i just got part of my system i have a 12'' in a plexiglass ported sub and my friend was cool enough to let me borrow one of his 300wtt amp until i pay him the other half then thats when im getting the 1000watt amp. He knows his stuff about car audio so i trust im getting something that will work well together giving the sound i want. He has changed so many systems out of his car that he has so many lying around and his dad owns a shop that he is willing to sell me both the 12" and the 1000 amp for $250 was that a good deal?

he will also help me install it for $40. i used to work with him at AUTOZONE too lol

just found out the amp im getting is a Bose 1000 watt amp the one i am going to be using in the mean time is a 300 watt kenwood mono lchannel or qsomething like that and the sub i have is a 500 watt some type of brand that has a db or something like that ill check it later
how good will this sound ?

o ok cool

ok the amp i have right now is a kenwood 300 WATT AND THE SUB IS A dhd POWERCRUISER 500 Watt
now my other question is

if when i put the 1000 watt BOSE amp to the dhd without the 300 wtt amp will i hear a difference?
also someone tol me that in order to take the base out of the speakers that i should connect them to an amp that way they sound cleaner and louder?

Sorry toke so long to reply, I am running 1 10" at 400W. Pioneer amp & sub. and 4 pioneer speakers. Love it. No complaints, other than i deffinately recommend doing some serious sound deadening. It will bring out rattles like you have never heard before. GL

EDIT: Check this write up by psudity, fixed all his problems, sounds similar. I would try some of this stuff first.

LMK if you have anymore questions.

Have a look at www.exileaudio.com For those of you old enough to remember when Phoenix Gold was real good, you will be happy to know that the original designers and owner is now Exile.. Very good quality and reasonable pricing. Also they have an awesome warranty.

I have 2 of their Entry level 12" subs in a custom ported & tuned encloser and only running 400 watts. It hits real hard. Even the owner was amazed. I will also be building a ported box for 2 10's for my g3 very soon.

Call Exile and talk to Bill. Tell him the Don with the Black GMC Typhoon from WA told you to call. Maybe they can hook you up direct. Or send you to one of their dealers.

Sealed box for loudness? What the shit? A seal box is for more range and better quality bass while a ported box is for loudness.
