It was until they realized they would not be able to find a parts manufacture.

Question : In many other industries around the world their is a competition for talent . Many athletes that play on American teams were lured from their countries by big pay checks for example . I wonder why American manufactures did not try identify some of the best Jap and European talent and attempt to steal them away by offering them more money ?

Why pay for someone to fly over, find a place to live, give them benefits and pay that will beat what they were paid originally, just to build a shitty car?

How much of the problem with American cars involves design and how involves the people who build it ? I have herd that American cars have to be built in a cheaper way so that their is money to pay what is know as legacy cost . When the air lines went bankrupt for example the retires lost their valuable medical benefits . With the auto bankruptcy , the auto worker retires did not lose anything . Do you think thats fair ?

These corporations want maximum profit for minimum cost. So first round draft pick panel installers are not on the top of the to do list.

Good Riddance, sorry to be negative guys but for an american company that charged import prices for parts and that has never turned a profit since its inception should have been taken out alot time ago.

No, legacy cost isn't the issue. The problem with American cars is due to arrogance. If I remember right in the mid 80's, Chrysler had a chance to work with honda or toyota, cant remember which one. It was a all but a done deal. The board dissed the idea to point the offend the other party personally.
