Random shots of my Monte Carlo & future plans

Well, there's my project car. My current mods are in the sig, in the future I'm trying to get an intercooler, high ratio rockers or aftermarket camshaft, 18" five spoke polished rims, and a fresh black paintjob. All comments are welcome.

Why is it you are looking to get an intercooler? With the L67 isn't the S/C part of the intake manifold? So you would need an aftercooler or some plate cooling device between the charger and intake?

The l67 is no joke, this car has potential to be very quick

do you already have a s/c pulley?

The supercharger actually takes place of the upper intake manifold, but there is still a lower intake manifold. With an intercooler, cooler fluid will run through the LIM, allowing me to drop pulley sizes on the blower to create more boost safely.

Yes - the stock s/c pulley is 3.8. I have a 3.4 on there now, with increased timing, fueling, etc. However, I was getting a lot of detonation with the 3.4 pulley so I drove the car with the boost bypass valve blowing off ~6 psi, so I was only running ~4 psi of boost. I still ran a 14.62@96 in the quarter mile on 4 psi. But I threw some 110 octane in the car and then did the quarter mile in 13.81@102. All of these races were before the Walbro fuel pump was installed, the stainless steel front header, and the ported heads. My goal with this car is to intercool, cam/rocker, then throw a 3.0 pulley on there and run high 12's or low 13's.

It's fairly difficult to get into the 11's with the fairly small M90 blower - maybe one day down the road if/when I build the transmission (these transmissions really don't like power) I'll get a whipple or I might turbo the car, but I like the blower whine so I think a turbo is out of the picture for me. Right now, I should be around 300 or a little more ft lbs or torque.

Thats a V6 right? Or V8? I'm not too familiar with Monte Carlo engines but I think thats a v6 without googling it. I hate how they're FWD and they look like a rectangle car to me. I bet the MPG is better than my camaro though.

Yep, it's a 3800 V6. The motor came out of a '99 Grand Prix GTP. The FWD aspect doesn't really bother me, as I prefer FWD for some reason. The gas mileage isn't as good as you'd think, but better than a V8. I get ~17 in town, and ~26 on the highway, and that's with the tune that's on the car right now. I'm thinking about re-tuning it though, or getting a stock PCM and starting from scratch.
