Talking euro_z's progress thread (epic amount of photos :P)

thought it was about time i created one of these, got threads all over the place and thought it would be better to have everything in one place. that ofcourse means there is going to be an epic amount of photos here :P

work done
-pending

future mods

So i bought the car in 2005 from carsales with 320,000kms on the clock. Overall the car was in ok condition, had a few dents but no rust, and the engine made a ticking noise. These are the photos from the advert.

and after i got her home and cleaned her up a bit

soon after, it was looking something like this

Basically, 3months into owning the car that ticking engine decided to shat itself. It had developed some serious rod knock, and ive lost the picture but the main bearings were completely shredded and as thin as paper! engine was full of metal filings.
So i got a new low km imported b20a..
Old members will remember these photos haha

new b20a

i riced up the valve cover so it would look less...peeling..

also sprayed the heat sheild

this is what improvising looks like lol

old engine out

empty bay

screw lowering, its all about heightening!

and new engine installed..

then for the next 2 years nothing much happened to the car accept for maintenance and replacing anything which broke. did get a new powersteering hose tho , this was taken with my old 2mp phone camera, so excuse the quality! you can also see ghetto cai in this photo, i just taped up the holes in the stock intake. looks shit but works well and sounds great!

earlier this year i decided it was time to finally do some of the things ive always wanted to.
1st thing on the list, new paint
i shaved the honda and 2.04ws badges from the back, bogged up the dents and sprayed everything in polar white (inc, mirrors, front lip, and that black strip that runs around the whole car) It took a few weeks to get it right.
the original thread with lots of pics is here:
http://www.preludeaustralia.com/foru...ad.php?t=42705

and a few pics for those who are lazy

car stripped down ready for prep.

basecoats down.

no badge!

final wet coats down.

and after some buffing!

It seemed like every summer one (or more! during one summer a different hose burst nearly every week!) of my hoses would burst. so i raided honda for this little stash.

honda clutch

and pulling the motor out again to install it all! was alot easier the 2nd time around.

next was wheels, one of my original wheels had a crack ever since i bought the car. It leaked air very slowly so i had an inner tube put in. This lasted for 2 years until the inner tube eventually wore thin from the friction against the tyre. I had another innertube put in with a new tyre but this literally failed 1hr after leaving the tyre shop! took it back to the shop got a refund and decided new wheels were in order.
ended up with these workemotion xd9
original thread:
http://www.preludeaustralia.com/foru...ad.php?t=44309

and ive also decided to end the 4x4 look, with these

Heh, the photoshopped picture took me by surprise.

Everything is so clean on it, the interior looks brand new. Nice work.

aight had progress this weekend, got the suspension installed it all went smoothly Turns out only one of my old shocks had a bumpstop, and they were all pretty rooted. the rears wouldnt even return to their normal height when squashed down, they just stayed down! haha
only thing im not too sure about is the dust covers, the ground control instructions say to cut them to about 5cms, but this leaves the lower part of the piston exposed...
they feel great when driving though!, very firm ride, follows every little dip in the road with no bouncing at all. no body movement when cornering, braking or accelerating.. its feeling very tight
oh and you can only fit a finger between the front wheel and the wheel arch
seems to be ok at this height, no wheel scrubbing but the mudflaps catch on speedbumps, and the exhaust scrapes the bumps too :\
will see how long the novelty lasts lol
rear shock comparison

fronts

all installed
