Crappiest Monday I've had in a while. Car Wreck

I was on my way to work going down a one way road heading east. Then bam wtf, spin crash up over a curb backward. Sat for a sec thinking about what just happend. shaking like hell. Tryied to find my cell phone that was on the other side of the car on the floor. Got out looked at the damage to my 07 suzuki sx4. the guy clipped my running a stop sign. got my bumper in the back pretty good and the quarter panel. the tire on the other side was off the wheel. other than that not to bad. its pouring rain. I walk to check on the other driver, an old man in his 70;s or so. I say "sre you ok" he tells me "you were going so damn fast I couldn't see you" WTH I was going 30. He then says "well lets swap info and get on our way, you don't want to be late for work". lol I say "well my tires not on the wheel I'm not going anywhere". I told him Im calling the police. and he says no lets just swap info. by then some lady in her house comes out and says " he got you good, I called the cops and saw the whole thing". to sum it up he got a stop sign violation and my car is at the wreckers awaiting an estimate. I'm waiting to here if I can get a rental in the mean time. I'm ok, but who knows tomorrow I may hurt.
I then get home and call the insurance lady to kick this off. after getting off the phone to leave the gas guy pulls up and tells me he;s here to disconnect. I'm like WTF I just paid you. he tells me its not that kind, its a disconnect like a I called to have it disconnected. So he fixes, they tell him someone on the phone called in the disconnect and must have told the wrong address. That explains why I have been getting disconnect notices the last few months, lol. he then puts in a new meter. Hey why not. and goes on his way.

thats my monday, top that.

Damn man sorry to hear that... Hopefully the rest of your day gets better... Glad you're not hurt badly, I know it sucks to hear "it could be worse" but at least you're not hurt. Lots of people have been killed by douche bags running stop signs.

Keep your head up man things can only get better... or get worse... or stay the same... I guess, well hey try to stay positive anyway.

You want to know how to fuck with the meters?

Remove it, and install it upside down. When its time for the meter man to come check, reinstall it back. But dont get GREEDY. Make sure its like 60 dollars or so.

Or make friends with the guy... he knows how to cheat them.

I've never once missed a stop sign. Guess that explains why the statistics show older drivers aren't that bad... because they just want to swap info and get on their way without getting the police involved. Douches!

That sucks ass man. Seems like you are down on your luck lately. I have to call a lawyer this week. After 6 months my back is starting to kill me. 15 days in a row it has had bad lower back pain. I was thrown 30 feet by some lady running me over in a cross walk while i had the right of way on a green light. Bitch drove straight into me while looking left on a right hand turn... the night before my last university final exam.

In Canada we have 2 years to file a claim. Hopefully you have something similar because pain often comes far down the road. My case, the first few weeks and now 6 months later. Go to the hospital and have yourself checked out, better yet see your doctor. Get your police file sent to you, and then go see an injury lawyer. Just talk to him and discuss what happened. It should be free as most will collect a percentage if they win and won't charge anything if they lose.

Just talked to insurance, they let me pick a shop and its being towed there for an estimate. I will probably end up with a rental tomorrow. Thanks everyone

heres the damage list. two rear wheels, rear axel, bumper cover fender repair, paint, and some rear suspension stuff. Unfortunately they can't get a hold of this moron to admit fault. So i am left with this on my claim until insurance can get a hold of a police report, which is available in 5 days. So i would have to pay out of pocket for a rental car if I want one. and my deductible of 500 dollars. Great like i have that laying around. Insurance will reimburse me for all of it once they get the report to confirm it and then move it to his insurance. so anyway the parts are being ordered since they told us about 2 weeks to get it fixed. We may end up renting a car when we need it. uhh what a week.

Jeez, hope the rest of your week is better man!! At least he hit the rear of the car, if he'd hit the centre it could have done a lot more damage to you, but as Prudz said, you may find you get pains further down the line, but here's hoping that you don't!!

Well they finally got a hold of the guy and he admitted fault. So we don't have to wait for a police report. I can get a rental until mine is fixed. The car will be fixed and won't cost me a dime. The week is looking up finally.
