pictures needed

I just finished my front bumper swap(88-89 onto my 87). there are a few spacing issues. its not really a big deal cause it still looks awesome, but I want to see some pictures of other 2nd gens with 3rd gen bumpers. I know how to search but I don't know how to find generation specific pictures. so if anyone knows any, please put some pictures here for me. I'll put pictures of mine up tomorrow when its light outside. thanks.

there aren't really any problems. its just the spacing. like where the fender and bumper meet the bumper sticks out past the fender about a half inch. the corners of the bumper don't line up with the corner lenses. then the small indention's where the 3rd gen lights rest when they are down. I was just wondering if everyone who does this just leaves all that the way it is or if anyone has done a little bondo to fix it, cause that's what I want to do.

Well i havnt bondo'd myne yet but plan to. im guessing you have an si bc on the dx u dont have any problems with the lights i have an si also and its a pita. the VERY FRONT lights wont go all the way in bc they are touching the rebar. now sinnce uve cut the rebar as far back as u could u have to cut something else. so u could either leave out the lights or cut the backs of them to fitt but then you have to find a way to cover them. MMYNE are actually held in by double sided tape right now which will have to go befor i paint it in the next couple weeks

sorry for the misunderstanding. I got the bumper lights in by cutting a small notch out of the rebar. I meant the cars corner lights. I'll post pictures in a second.

these are just a few from a distance to show how damn sexy this looks.

now this is the light indention i was talking about. you can just fill them with bondo, but i didn't do that yet.

this is the spacing issue where the bumper meets the fender. maybe i can just cut the extra off, then fiberglass it all back together?

and this is where the cars corner lights meet the bumper. there is a not too noticeable gap under the light. not exactly sure on my plans to fix this yet.

any ideas on easier ways to fix any of these would be greatly appreciated.

U may be able to cut that corner out and remake it with some fiberglass patching...Kinda like a hole patch for sheet rock...It comes in a sheet and u can cut it and should be able to make the corner out right...U can just cut the end of the bumper off or even try heating it up and bending it around to make u a new edge and cut the extra off...

Does light still come through the corner lights? In those pics they don't look like they would let any through. It looks good though, although I don't think it would look as cool on my white one.

BLACK corners on white looks good if u do it right. If u got pretty dark window tint (even 35 percent is good) and maybe some black rims not that u have to have them they just might help and it wud match up perfect with the front headlight covers if they are black ALSO blacksunshine if u want to take ur bumper off to show me that wud be cool but i know how much of a pita it is so if u dont feel like it i wont matter to me

honestly light comes through just fine. and i didn't even use nightshades. the way i did it, it looks darker than it really is. i just put a few very light coats of regular black spray paint. then a shitload of layers of clearcoat. and i love the black on white too. i originally was going to get a white prelude, but i happened to find this black one, so therefor- all black.

pictures of the black painted lights.

i haven't hooked up the bumper lights yet, but these are the corner lights with no headlights, then with headlights.

and the taillights are painted exactly the same.

6000k white h.i.d............................................. ...................................

just kidding. they are the cheapest normal headlights I could get from wal-mart. I think my brights might have been on. or maybe its because there were no other lights near by.

update for onebad87

all I did was cut a notch in the rebar

one other thing. I didn't cut far enough back to put the light bulbs in, because I was using a hacksaw (no fun). but I measured mine and if I cut back closer to the bolt I can put the light bulb in like it should be. so I hope this helps.

Thats is a fine job so far. I have a 3rdgen bumper & that makes me want to get started on mine. But gotta wait & save the funds. Kids just started back to school & deer season is almost here.
