Ok to remove plastic cover under engine? (splashguard)

The plastic cover under my engine is sagging and dragging on the ground. Is it safe to remove it permanently?

Well that really helps keep the motor clean, especially during rain and winter salt spray, but I suppose it isn't necessary. Before you take it off, have you tried replacing the 7 bolts and 2 clips with new ones? Or is the plastic piece cracked, torn, broken, or severely warped?

It helps more with water spray than dust. Without it your drive belts will get soaked when you drive in the rain which could lead to them slipping and wearing out faster than normal.

I've never seen it happen before on a honda, but on a dodge caravan, if you drive through a unexpected puddle of standing water, and you don't have a splash guard, it'll throw the belts right off. Happened to my dear old mommy

Mine's taken off, and I haven't had a problem yet. But come winter time, it'll be back on for sure.

I took mine off a while back when I did my first clutch job and just left it off lol. You do get tons of water spots all over when you drive in the rain though, but oh well

is vtec, which is what makes it so quick. I believe it works by the intake butterfly valves spinning the rear main seal and pumping in more gasoline to the pistons, causing them to pump harder, therefore increasing thrust and linear combustion.

It keeps your engine clean, aerodynamics and even helps force air through the rad instead of just moving down and under the car. I keep mine on.
