I've heard of people zip tying them to the bottom of the manifold before... Don't know if that helps you or not.

You could chip to get rid of the Knock sensor cel
For a knock sensor to work properly it needs to be tightened to a specific torque to the engine.
Torque is of the bolt is more important than location if it just held with a zip tie it computer will think you have detonation as it sensor bounces around.

Weld a nut to the block and create a bung? Not something I would do. Send your ECU to mottoxxman. He does all kinds of shit with them for like $200

You'd be nuts as hell to actually do that. I mean I'm just as broke as the next guy but I wouldn't do that.... Yet I suggested it- how's that work? lol

Why don't you just drive around with the code for a bit? I see no harm in that

Yea if you want poor gas mileage and pitiful performance.
Then I guess why not?

what he is saying is, when the engine sees the code its thinking your engine is getting massive detonation so it'll retard the timing/put more fuel in to stop the phantom detonation from happening so your performance and mpg will go down as account to this. Get it down the right way, either have someone create a bung for it or have someone program out the knock (though having a knock sensor is a good idea for performance cars).

from my experience with the knock sensor, it retards timing. I'm running the f22b dohc motor and this has been the biggest issue for me. What I did was get a OBD1 knock sensor, find a bolt that fits the sensor. Then bolt it right onto the alternator bracket or the part where the engine is hoisted, and dont forget to run the wire either from the ecu or if you have the harness, tap into it and heat shrink it back, give it a shot if you want. you can always get a used knock sensor from a junk yard for cheap. Not to mention I had this problem for a VERY VERY long time. I tried the infamous piezo buzzers and that never worked as well. I have yet to see the code 23 and car runs good now.
