Thermal R&D-2.25" Stainless Steel CatBack Group Buy

Update: Since this group buy process did not meet the minimum of 15 buyers, I decided to look for other sources to get the thermal for a good price. I remember a member posting this site before. So I looked into it and for the retail price of:

$490.09 w/free shipping via ground

I think this is the next best thing in price for a quality exhaust system.

The site is: http://www.import-racer.com/sku/B114-C114

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok people, I have contacted Chuck at Thermalrd.com about their catback systems.

Good news, they will still make it, they just do not stock them anymore. So I asked about making some kits for the community who keep asking.
He said no problem, only thing is they want a minimum buy.

I asked for the lowest possible buy in and he told me 15 kits is the lowest. I wanted to be able to bring an proven system back to the community.

Here are the details:

15 catbacks need to be purchased with 50% deposits to get this going. I will be the business running this group buy. The price I will be selling the kits at will be:
  • $500 + shipping to be quoted by Thermal R&D.
  • All payments to will made through me - 1Funryd Performance
  • Payments accepted: paypal + fees, or Money order sent via priority mail with tracking number.
  • All warranties will be through Thermal R&D
(for reference only not actual system, I will update later.)

Thermal is a proven product with outstanding quality.

I will answer all question to the best of my ability good or bad. It I do not have the answer I will get it for you.

I will keep this Group Buy thread up here for as long as it takes, but please understand if we do not buy these kits as a group buy, the prices are going to be higher which will make it much harder for other members.

Any questions feel free to post.

This will be 10x better than pacesetter...I'm not knocking pacesetter because they were the only place that I could find that has an exhaust for our rides (at the time) I just wanted something else and this looks like the stuff that will make my H22A sing perfectly.

You rock Sean

The only thing i never liked about the thermal system was the fact it had a single tip muffler. Anyway he can do a dual 3" or 3.5" muffler as an option?

NICE! Good to see Thermal make a comeback. Loud exhaust, but a damn good one.

Gains on stock everything aren't going to be a whole hell of a lot.
Couple-few hp, maybe.

Gains on a modded motor will be more, basically the more mods you have the more it'll help, really.

Plus it'll never rust, which is awesome.

Well the gain in Hp really depends on intake, cam, valves....remember, an engine is really a big air pump....the more air you put into it, the more air that you have to move out...so if you don't have a good setup in the air intake department then putting on the largest exhaust systems will do nothing for you. The main goal is to balance everything out.

How does this stack up to the LSD setup? I was all about to order that last LSD kit with that stimulus check until my cooling system exploded, so maybe I can do this instead a little later down the road..

From what I've heard performance-wise, the thermal and LSD have a very similar design, mandrel bent, etc etc etc.

The only difference I know of is that Thermal R&D is louder...a LOT louder. That's what I like about the LSD exhaust though...it's super quiet.

being that they have similar designs though, I can't imagine the performance being all that much different between the two

Hmm..cause the quiet part was one of the pluses in my book. I like a nice sounding exhaust but I don't want every ricer in town's attention..they're really retarded here, especially on Friday nights :/

How loud is this system going to be?

If it's really loud, I do not want something like that. My Pacesetter was nice and low key, yet had a pretty good sound when I got on it.....comming from a B20A3..hahahaha..but I did not grab everyones ear as I drove from a block away, unless it was my system.

I would like to hear a setup on someones ride before I 100% take the bait on this sell.

Edit: So on post #252, is that the Thermal setup that you are running?
