Rywire Harness

Okay fellas I asked for the other thread to be closed way too much chit chat for nothing.

Here is the low down dirty truth.

I spoke with Ryan from Rywire and we spoke somewhat in depth about what I want to accomplish through this group buy. As we all know not everyone on here is going to attempt an H22 engine swap. Hell with the motor mounts sold you can go from an F22-h23 whatever you desire. It's up to you.

Some of us are even on the verge of a nice Turbo setup or even a greatly modified NA build... some even nitrious. What I'm getting to is that with great power comes great responsibi....tuning. Which we all know the OBD0 setup just wont cut it.

OBD1 is much easier to tune and able to tune then OBD0 and OBD2a/b.

What Ryan and I want to offer are Jumper harness's for everyone who is pre OBD1 on any application. And also offer an engine harness for anyone who wants to attempt any sort of engine swap. Yes this means all the newbs who still want a B16 in their prelude. If you want the engine harness he can build it.

The dirty truth. To keep cost down dramatically we will need to send in two (2) things to Ryan. The STOCK 3g engine harness and also the engine harness from whatever engine is going into its place.

Prices????

Jumper harness- $90.00 us dollars

Engine harness- $180.00 US dollars

OKAY JUST SO THAT EVERYONE KNOWS THE ENGINE HARNESS PRICE CAN VARY DEPENDING ON APPLICATION. EVERYONE OR ANYONE WHO HAS EVER DEALT WITH A P13 ECU (STOCK H22) KNOWS IT'S A LITTLE MORE INVOLVED AND WHICH CASE IF YOU PLAN ON GOING THIS ROUTE YOU MIGHT BE CHARGED A LITTLE MORE.
LAST, THOSE WHO PLAN AN OBD2 H22 (TYPE S OR EURO R) MUST UNDERSTAND THAT AN OBD2 WIRING IS ALSO THAT MUCH MORE TEDIOUS AND WILL REQUIRE MORE MAN HOURS SO BE SURE TO ACCEPT THE ADDED AMOUNT TO THE HARNESS PRICE.

Also for those who want to change their distro's from a B21 or a B20 to a B18 version PM me.. Ryan will offer a jumper harness for ease of installation

I can't stress this enough please.

Now what I need from you. A name list with which engine you're using and ECU and what car it's going in... in example.....

team123luder-OBD1 H22, P28 ECU, 1991 2.0Si (a sexy ass 2.0Si )

Ryan didn't give me a minimum but lets try and get at least 15 people. Turn around time will be quick. A few days max we hope. Keep the thread to your name addition. Questions not answered in this first post are welcomed through here or PM. Question obviously answered will be deleted by a moderhater.

THANKS AND KEEP LUDING

edit: All contact with ryan can be done through me if it's not enough you can ask me for his contact information. Once I'm allowed I'll post his phone number here so don't think I'm ripping anyone.

LIST AS OF 2-6-07
1) team123luder-1991 2.0si, OBD1 H22, P28
2)Rob_a-1989 2.0Si, OBD1 H22, P13
3)SovietSuperSoldier-1991 2.0SI,OBD1 H22, ECU TBD.
Also 1989 2.0SI,OBD1 B16,ECU TBD. B16 harness pending. Might need a B16 engine harness.
4)DagoLude - 1991 SI, H22 Type-S, OBD2 P5P ECU
5)Dead_End - 1991 Si, H22 Type-S, ECU OBD2 P5P [Hopefully I can find one soon]
6)jdm3genprelude-OBD1 JDM H22, P13, 1989 HONDA PRELUDE 2.0 SI, might need an H22 engine harness...
7)Ludepower89-1988 2.0si, Obd1,jdmh22, Ecu Tbd
8 )8920Si, 2.0si obd0, ob1 usdm h22a, p13 usdm ecu
9)88ludester, 88 2.0si obd0, jdm obd1 H22a, p13
10)OMP Prelude-1990 SR B21a OBD1, USDM H22a OBD1, want to run a p28 ecu
Also for my second lude
OMP Prelude-1990 SR B21a OBD1, JDM H22a1 OBD1, also want to run p28 ecu

ECU harness..... Oh but where is the plug for the P13's secondaries?

HERE!!!

Harness!!!!

OBD0 3rd gen plugs, yummy nice and clean

Wait what? HE ACTUALLY MARKED EVERYTHING? Yes, like I said total plug in play setup with Ryan.

Doesn't that look stock? Close enough

Okay here is the deal. This setup was a complete OBD0 to OBD1 H22, P13JDM setup. Since I required the most wiring (Have yet to do a carbed version) I paid 280 shipped.

The turn around time was about a week. He needs both your stock engine harness and your H22 one.

If you DON'T HAVE MONEY!!! Please don't put the order in. Ryan was already ripped off and he's on edge about it. I don't want to have a bad reputation from the 3rd genners.

Now here is the slice of cake.... You send your engine harness's or setup to him. He recieves it and either you call or he'll call. Once it is done either he or peter will call you letting you know that the total amount is due. (price depends on what setup you have or want). Once they recieve the money, credit card, money order and or even paypal... they'll mail you the harness ASAP via USPS.

I got mine with in a few days upon complition. Can't wait for it to be installed. Next week for sure.

This is awesome! Sparcomarco (that's me) wants an obd0 - obd1 conversion harness Ecu to be determined (does it matter?)

Prelude of the Month

This will be a GB. There is no "end date" as of yet. Since half of the people are still waiting for engine mounts.

jdm3rdgenprelude I can ask him if can get you an H22 harness. Which will have a core charge.

Come on fellas the last thread had great feedback... Lets get this damn list together.

So can I add any of you two to the list?

I think this GB would be great if most of us had our H22s. As well as harnesses to contribute for that matter. What use is the wiring us carbed guys have? Some also have empty engine bays awaiting an H22 but no harness. Of course I suppose all of us should be able to get off our lazy asses and pick one up from a local junkyard. Anywho, I'm interested and will keep my eye on this thread.

I will be using the stock P13 ECU, however, may want the option of changing the ECU to something tunable down the road. How easy would that be if I were to buy the P13-ready harness from this GB? Seems to me anything OBD1 would work with the harness. I'm just waiting for some questions to be answered so I can understand exactly what is going on here.

TripleLude will become famous soon enough

any news on the carbed 3rd gen stuff. i may be in on all this H22 stuff after all, but only for my S lude.

i really Need to know if i can get a plug and play engine harness and jumper harness for my 1988 S with B20a3 swap to H22 with OBD1 and a p13 ECU. i would also like to upgrade my ECU to something better down the road. what would be compatible and what are my options?

after i get my engine, i can send in both my engine harnesses together, or whatever you need. thnx for organizing this for us 3rd gen bums.

ok. since im not as smart as everyone here, im asuming that the p13 ecu is stock for 3rd gens correct? i will be purchasing an h22 obd2 with its harness and ecu. if that ecu is easier to use then thats what i will use.

jdm3genprelude-OBD2 JDM H22,ECU from JDM H22, 1989 HONDA PRELUDE 2.0 SI

il try to find a junkyard that has the harness and send that in sooner since it will be a few months before i can get the engine. unless the JDM harness is different than the USDM, the i would have to wait and try to get the engine sooner. but let me know if theres something i can work out with ryan or anyone.

i know this is for an acual harness, but i was wondering, is it even remotely possible to do just an adaper harness like for the ecu that plugs into the firewall and the h22a harness and then seperates the vtec and knock sensor wires onto another connector so that the wires can be run to the ecu? just asking because it seems like it would be cheaper and easier to make.

Nah, the p13 is one of the stock ECU's for the H22A motor.

Triple & H22a-B20A3
I was in the same scenario as yourselfs. I have a 89s carbed lude. My original plan was to build up a B20A5 replacing the carbed motor. In doing that I was lead to just swap my whole 89S harness with a 88Si harnes (motor and interior). The Si and S ECUs are obviously different so it just made sense (to me) to swap everything. Here is a writeup maybe you've seen but if not it may be beneficial. I guess what I'm saying is... If you can pigtail it... go for it... if not... you may have to replace all the wiring and ECU + add the return fule line for FI. http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...d.php?t=183954

Since the AZ mount group buy I've changed my mind about going with the B20A5 and will drop in an H22. The good thing is that I've already installed the 88Si interior wiring. I defiantly want in on this but I do not have the H22 yet. I'm going to purchase a 92-95 H22A which comes with the ECU... Just to clarify... this is a P13 ECU, correct? It also comes with a cut wire harness. I guess this is where I'm a little unclear and I apologies for that, but wouldn't I want to purchase both the Engine harness and Jumper harness from Rywire? And how do I indicate that when I commit?
Thanks,
Jeff

Okay you carbed luders I specifically asked Ryan what's up with that and I'm just pending on a reply from him. I'm sure he could conjure something up for you all. But if this wont work you can easily convert to OBD0 and go from there. More then a handful of luders have done this. I'm sure half of them are willing to help out.

8920si.... the reason why the harness is offered the way it is, it's simply because not everyone on here is OBD1. If we all were OBD1 your method would totally rule us all and no one would really need a conversion harness just some wits. However since I'm in the OBD0 crowd, my engine harness wont work with an H22 unless modified as Ryan will be doing.

If you guys would see his work you'll know it'll be well worth it. The engine harness's look almost stock to the eye.

Remember fellas there are no OBD0 H22's and also I repeat OBD2 H22'S WILL BE HARDER TO INSTALL BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA WIRING THUS YOUR PRICE WILL DIFFER!

Do I need to send in both donor harnesses or can we do something about that? Cause I dont have a B16 harness handy if you know what I mean and around here finding one in a junkyard is about as rare as a Prelude INX TCV.

Prelude of the Month

WHAT? lol B16 engine harness's are all over the damn place but I'll ask Ryan once I send him the full list.

So that everyone knows... the price after the GB will go up... by how much? I don't know this is a special offer for us pp.com members just ask AZ race took a "chance" on us, so is Rywire. However I'm willing to work with everyone and try to squeeze all in.... and if you can't make it to the GB I will gladly start another.

Ok, so are the jumper and engine harness price separate or does the engine harness price include the jumper?

seperate.... Not everyone needs both a harness and a jumper. Considering most shops charge 500 dollars to wire an engine swap this is a steal and the convenience of a plug and play setup is nice. PLUS!!!! getting into your engine bay and doing something yourself is a way uber cool feeling.

Alright, let me get this straight. Say I have an B21 (OBD1) harness and an H22 (OBD1) harness. I would send those to Ryan and he'd make an engine harness to work with the Lude? If I'm using the stock P13 ECU the H22 harness would plug right up to that so I wouldn't need a jumper correct?

i can send in my OBD0 harness but i would have to find an OBD2 harness from a junk yard so i can get in on this group buy. anyone know if its easy to find a an OBD2 harness not cut? o and um when we send in the harness, we're just sending in the detacted half from the engine right?
