It sounds VEEEERRRY nice, deepest 4cyl exhaust i've ever seen/heard. Standing behind the car at 800rpm you can just FEEL the tone in your legs and through the ground.... its really hard to explain, you need to experience it for yourself

wow..dude..before the mods lock this post....SEARCH...and to be honest dual exhaust isn't worth the loss of HP/TQ to be louder....unless you drive an 8

So true, a dual exhaust on a 4 banger is quite pointless and "ricer" to say the least. But do what you gotta do I guess.

My exhaust isnt loud... its deep... and where is the loss of HP/TQ in a y-pipe exhaust? Its essentially a single exhaust until that y, and with dual 2-inch tips, I have the flow of a single 2.5-3 inch tip at most.... I must have a different definition of rice than you guys, but an exhaust that consist of MORE than the bumble bee fart can, and designed to improve performance isnt exactly rice.... I could be wrong though.

I think forum member KO_SI posted a thread a while back about his dual exhaust tips. Looked pretty darn cool from what I can remember.

If dual exhausts is just ricey and will lose you power, why did Honda put them on the S2000? There has to be some benefit in putting 2 on there otherwise they wouldn't of done it.

Anyhow, i remember a thread from a while back about backpressure being 90% myth or something... eh, I cant remember

and keep in mind that the exhaust on an s2000 is no where near "ricey" sounding, but then again, it doesn't sound like a mustang either.

This has more to do with the nature of a 4 cyl engine than the exhaust setup. I will admit my exhaust DOES sound like a bee from 3000-5000rpm but (at least in tunnels and underpasses) it sounds like a ferrari at 7k but below 3000rpm the tone is a rumble... not THE rumble of a v8, but, impressive for a 4cyl.

OK.. true dual exhaust for our 4cyl would be two separate headers for two cylinders each (cyl's your pick) This would be like the dual exhaust systems found on "V" and "boxer" engines. Unfortunately it would sound much like a old VW Beatle.

Sorry LudaPower.. I try to remember to let off the throttle when I'm passing your chalet..

Give a sound bite.....that's the only way to settle this

I thought about dual exhaust too. However, I'm into proformance and not all show. I'm willing to spend money to see better at night and to gain power in the car, however, anything that just add's to show is not interesting to me.

This disscussion has been discussed before. One side says it's not worth it and the other side says it is and sound nice. But I have yet to hear a lude with a dual exhaust. I'm also not into many of the muffler's that are on the market because they try to give the car a deep sound when our car's where never designed to have a deep sound.

Just taking off the air filter and making a better air flow to the engine will add HP and give the car a nice sound. I'm still working on the exhaust but when I get it done, it's going to be custom for proformance rather than just the sound. I guess I rather have a sleeper that people think is crap than have a flashy car that is all show.

Now there are some nice looking Ludes out there. But we have to admit. Many people think are cars are crap. I get all kinds of people that pull up next to me in the deck out cars with flashy rims teasing me to a race. I let them drive on unless they get me upset then I give them a little taste of just what a 91 stock lude with nothing more than intake upgrade can do. It's not much and I'm not saying that I have this super fast car out there. Many of these flashy cars have much more mods than me and come in all shapes and sizes. However, I hate it when people underestimate my baby.

Just wait. Wait until I can afford to do the serious mods to my car. I dream of making them wonder if all that glitter was worth it. My goal, make them think twice about rolling up to a Lude and under estimating the hidden power of the Lude.

Dang it, got off topic again. Just give us the sound bites of your car and that will settle all this rice talk. To each be their own judge.

i thought mario or fly or someone said that the s2000 gained hp from converting from dual to single exhaust.

Dual exhaust is fine on a high powered engine, and helps on motors that have the HP TQ but when you're running 105 to the wheel it's POINTLESS. Trust me man, ask the dyno guys how much the HP drops from the lack of pressure.

I had the intimidator (dual 3 inch tip) by magnaflow on the 89 Lude I had and it was catback as well and it sounded nice. Very nice. I had so many people comment on the exhaust and how it didn't sound very "honda like" at all. I loved it.

I'm all for the ricey exhaust, makes me feel like my civic is faster than what it is.
If the bee sound comes, well... it's a 4cyl, what else do you expect?

Dual exhaust has looked nice on cars, but also gives a deeper tone... depending on which kind of muffler you're using.

taken from http://www.battleoftheimports.com/cl...battlecalc.htm

Your Prelude which weighs about 2900 pounds should complete the 1/4-Mile in about 16.7 seconds, if you can produce about 123.07 HP at the wheels, or about 159.99 HP at the flywheel.

Thats my BEST quarter mile time, and I am a HORRIBLE driver.... lol, so i think it is safe to say I am putting over 105 to the wheels, a good bit over!

As for sound bites... I will get them as soon as possible...

Car's weight is 2566lbs.

And for the JDM b20a = 16.07
b21a1 = 16.19
b20a5 = 16.39

My car is tuned differently, I hit mid to high 15's. Amazing what you gain when you remove everyday things people call "required" in a car. Such as your EGR, A/C, backseats, stock wheels (weight difference), etc...
