lol I see no one helped you, so i'll help you out. Is your car driving funny? Not locking up in 4th gear? Is your speedometer working? There's about 10 reasons why that light will start blinking.

So what's the code that's blinking? I have no idea what S3 and S4 do, I assume its electronic Sport and Economy shift options on the tranny..

The S3 light blinking means something is wrong somewhere. It isn't always a major problem. He could have a bad coolant temperature sensor, which causes the S3 light to blink b/c tranny fluid runs through the auto prelude radiators.

As for S3/S4, it's an auto shift function that actually works pretty good if you know how to use it. S3 is nice because it lets u hold 3rd Gear for as long as you want; or as long as your car can take it.

At the front of the transmission ( facing the radiator) there are two round projections... these are solenoids. Un-plug and re-plug the connectors a few times. It may just be a corroded connection.

Yeah...I live in a hilly part of Georgia and always use "S4" instead of "D".

Less shifting = less wear and tear on transmission and it drives much better this way.

if ur speedo quits it could be
a) speedo cable
b) VSS vehicle speed sensor
c) go with this one first, bad instrument cluster (was my problem) replaced it with a new one and never had a problem....

see, sometimes after years of work, the cluster wears out and looses it's magnetic field within the cluster, so then it starts to act stupid....so trying that first and check the speedo cable, mine was broken in 3 different spots from what the mechanic said....but it ended up being a bad cluster....

This is a computer controlled transmission and without speed sensor input, the trans does not know when to shift. Fix the speedo problem and the rest will probably fall into place.........3gdude
