Megan Racing Header & full cat back Exhaust

I just did a full header back swap with Megan Racing Header, a Magnaflow high performance car sounds cat, and Megan Racing full cat-back NA type exhaust. Over all I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Pros~
- Fairly Cheap compared with greddy and HKS
- Full polished stainless steal
- 2.5" piping, 4.5" tip
- Beautiful welds
- great fitment

Cons~
- The is fairly small compared to its competitors
- It's a little louder then I would have liked it to be

So did didnt take to many pics.. probably should have thought about it but i took them with my iphone and i wasnt about to get grease and shit on my phone..

As for the swap. Im glad I decided to do header back because shit would have gotten really messy if I stuck with the stock header. the flanges all the way down the pipe were pretty much welded to one another. once I got everything out, putting it all back together was the easy part.

Laid out before pulling the car in

old Vs. New

Megan tip, I like the clean flush look it has with the bumper!!

mandrel bent

Resenator

Magnaflow cat

Flex pipe

Old Vs. New

All in all this was a very easy process, it took me about one day to finish because I had to get a new sencondary O2 sensor.
I also needed to buy three bolts w/ nuts and washes for the flange from the header to the cat (Megan did not provide these)

The whole project cost me about $850.00.
~Megan Racing Header - $200
~Maganflow Cat - $150
~Megan Racing NA catback - $400
~Bosch O2 sensor - $100
~additional hardware - $5

ive got the megan header & exaust but an OBX high flow cat sounds much better in the low rpms then yours i think thats your cat making it sound soooo different from mine but the megan catback does have a good all around tone

I'm really impressed with the sound and at 850 that's really not so bad. how hard was it to install yourself?

not that bad considering i had the car sitting on jack stands!! with only about a 36" clearance some areas were tight to work under and some of the bolts were a little hard to get out (all i had to work with was a socket set and a torque wrench. The hangers are mildly tight but i was able to get the old stuff down with out damaging any of them and thanks to the great fitment all the hangers went back up successfully too. if you do it yourself be prepared to replace the secondary O2 sensor... chances are after ten plus years its not coming back out.

Thanks for the good feedback!!

It's called a HEADER- not headers.

Not bad, sounds kind of weird at lower RPM's. Looks good, that's for sure

To be completely honest it feels a little more responsive but not enough to really say I get great power changes.

This summer I plan to get the intake mani and tb.

Did you actually measure it?

I have a 2.5" header collector, with 2.5" magnaflow cat, and the Megan catback piping was .25" smaller than the cat. It said 2.5" when I bought it, but it wasn't. I believe they only made 2.5" for the tegs.

I cut the pipe past the flange on the catback, so maybe the flange is 2.5", and tapers to a smaller diameter? Not sure, but I had to get an adapter regardless.

Sounds good at high but low horrible! I got the obx off ebay for 200 and it sounds great w no fart sound at all! you should swap the muffler with an obx twin loop, i bet it would sound much cleaner. Nice exhaust though

Just to clear up this debate... The piping is technically both 2.5" and 2.25". Its advertised as 2.5" which is measured Outside Diameter. Then it is 2.25" Inside diameter. But majority of exhaust shops go by OD. So an exhaust shop would sell it as a 2.5" exhaust.

Back to OP. It sounds good man. Not to bad of a price for everything either. O also.. did you take that video very soon after installing it? The baffling/packing sounds like it hasnt been broken in yet. Thus making it sound that way at lower rpms.

Hey bro. That sounds nice. :]
I got the N1 Exhaust as well and I just slapped on Hytech Header.

Would you reccomend that Magnaflow CAT? and what brand is it?

Here is how mine sounds with stock headers. When i put on the Hytech the sound went down drastically. I kinda like it but want to add a magnaflow exhaust for better MPG, a little bit more of a rumble, and HP gain.
