You Know You Own a 3rd Gen If...

I could swear I saw a thread like this before, but I couldn't find it. I think our list could be a bit more idiosyncratic than the 5g one Here goes... (and if I'm just retarded and someone finds the old list, go ahead and lock this choke me with a clock cover)

1. You know what the deal is with the clock cover.
2. You'd buy a 5g, but you'd never trade the 3g for one.
3. Your car used to be someone's winter beater.
4. People try to sell you B-series parts, and you have to explain all the differences.
5. You know all the differences.
6. Most of your mods were designed for other cars.
7. The mods you have that were actually designed for your car came from Australia or Europe
8. You've ever taken an in-car shower.
9. (4WS) You crank the steering wheel all the way to one side whenever you park.
10. You know what R-51 means.
11. People ask what ALB stands for.
12. (USDM) You have dents in the doorjamb from the seatbelts.
13. You ponder for days on end what full custom mod to do next.
14. Practically everything is custom.
15. People tell you nonstop that it is pointless to modify your car. Then you tell them about tonybaker, and nobody believes you.
16. Your crappy "custom" exhaust sounds better than every single other type of honda on the road, even ones with $1,000+ exhaust systems.
17. (Especially 4WS) Your normal driving scares people. Your aggressive driving makes people want to jump out of the car in motion.
18. You have every website that sells 3g specific parts memorized. And it didn't take you that long.
19. Search, n00b.
20. You dig the seat's memory button, but it's not like anyone ever gets in the back of your car anyway.
21. (B21) "Running mint" means it only burns one quart of oil per week.
22. Your valvetrain is louder than your exhaust at idle.
23. You know more about your car than most mechanics.
24. You like to pretend you drive an NSX, and it's not that hard if you squint a little.
26. You've ever been torn between FRM and butterflies.
27. You frankensteined and engine that has neither.
28. You buy 10mm sockets every weekend.
29. You find the sockets you bought two weeks ago in wierd places in the car.
30. (4WS) People get creeped out when they drive your car.
31. You've spent more money on mods than the initial purchase of the car.
32. People ask what the "S" in "4WS" stands for.
33. (USDM) You've ever tried getting into or out of the car with the seatbelt buckled, and never tried again.
34. Butterthegreat has ever made an offer on your car.
35. You remind passengers constantly to roll up the seatbelt and lock the door.
36. You get mad at them when they forget.
37. Nothing beats the feeling of finishing a job on your own.
38. Something breaks again in a couple of days.
39. You don't brush your teeth after every meal, but you check PreludePower.com three times a day (or more).
40. Your girl dumps you because you spend too much time with your car.
41. You don't really miss her.
42. You think pop-up lights are the benchmark for 80's performance cars.
43. You've ever been quoted for a clutch job, and it was twice as expensive as any other car you've owned.
44. You walk backwards away from your car every time you get out.
45. (90/91) You think 88/89 taillights are ugly.
46. (88/89) You think the 90/91 front bumper is ugly.
47. (88/89) Anyone has ever laughed at your dancing spedometer needle.
48. Your power antenna doesn't work anymore.
49. You call passengers "cupholders."
50. You look at every random 3g you see in a parking lot, compare it to yours, and contemplate making an offer.
51. Every other Honda shifter feels like a spoon in a bowl of pudding.
52. You use the adjustable seat bolsters to track your weight loss/gain.
53. You slow down before corners to give traffic ahead of you a head start.
54. Know exactly what double-wall headers rattling at 2000rpm sounds like.
55. (4WS) You've ever gotten stuck trying to pull an impossible u-turn in someone else's car.
56. Your lights dim at idle.
57. You wonder if you could snag the side skirts off that 7th gen Accord parked over there and get away clean.
58. Winning races is even better when you spray half a quart of oil at the loser behind you.
59. You make excuses to work on your car.
60. You decided that you need a more practical second car. So you bought another 3g.
61. Ever old Asian dude used to have a car like yours.
62. You've ever MacGuyvered the main relay in a parking lot to get home.
63. All of your friends know the 3g had the first and last fully-mechanical 4-wheel-steering system ever in a production car. Because you've told them a thousand times.
64. (88/89) You love yellow foglights.
65. You've ever put homework aside or been late to work because you would rather work on your car.
66. Being told to ditch your "pile of shit" for a Civic or Integra doesn't even make you mad anymore, you've heard it so many times.
67. You flip your headlights at other 3g's on the road, and get totally excited when someone finally flips back.
68. You're tired of explaining how a regular B-series won't fit.
69. You're tired of explaining how a B-series VTEC head won't fit.
70. You've ever heard, "Is that Vee-TAK?"
71. Random people ask you if you're selling your car.
72. (Lowered) You amuse yourself at stoplights by reading people's tire sizes.
73. You have a keyhole light, and not even newer Bimmers have that.
74. Most of the threads you start begin with "OK I searched, but..."
75. You have bought or performed a Mustardcat mod.
76. (Lowered) You have a sequence of at least two jacks you use just to get the car high enough to change the oil.
77. (Carb) You talk about Webers and other Honda people's eyes just sorta glaze over.
78. You've ever gotten onto the freeway in 5th gear, and without paying attention, shifted to 4th because you thought you were still in 3rd at 4000 rpm.

Ok you're up

13) you ponder for days on end what full custom mod to do next
14) practically everything is custom
15) people tell you nonstop that it is pointless to modify your car. then you tell them about tonybaker, and noone believes you
16) you're crappy "custom" exhaust sounds better than every single other type of honda on the road, even the ones with $1k+ exhaust systems. simply cuz you have the displacement to make a nice mean low toned growl instead of a bumble bee raspy buzz
17) you cant get that song from "a little sunday fun" out of your head
1 (4ws) your normal type driving scares people. you racing type driving makes people want to jump out the door while moving
19) it took you less than an hour to memorize every single website that sells 3g specific parts
20) everyone tells you to SEARCH NOOB!!
21) you dont have to readjust your backrest's position after letting someone in the backseat, it goes right back to its original position that you set it to last with the memory button.
22) (b21) you burn a quart of oil or more a week but your engine "runs mint"
23) you dont need to jumper the service connector to check your error codes
24) your valvetrain is louder than your exhaust at idle

If you buy at least one 10mm socket every month.

(last time I removed the plastic shroud under the bumper, I found 3)

Prelude of the Month
nobody's allowed to drive your car because, "the 4WS might scare them"
People see your 4WS badge and say, " is that thang really four wheel drive?"...

yep, r-51 is the color code for the red 3g
and the in car shower is not from sunroof leaks, its from the sunroof drain tubes clogging and causing the roof to fill with water, then when you take a turn or brake or go down a hill all that water comes spilling onto your head. trust me, its a shower haha. our sunroofs are not designed to be water tight, hence why we have 4 drain tubes in the roof.
