I definitely recommend single xenon Audi or BMW 3 series (E46) projectors if you want it to be a relatively easy retrofit job! If I had all the parts in front of me I could do another 5th gen retrofit in about 6 hours.

Hello, sorry for bringing up an old topic but weren't there pictures that went with the how-to guide? If so, could they be rehosted (imageshack or imagestation)? Thank you. Good job on the guide JLude!

Don't apologize for reviving an old thread. It's a good thing. It shows you put forth the effort and searched for what you wanted to find.

We'd much rather see this than a brand new post on the topic.

Well you can easily find this in the resource thread. No need for a sticky, but yeah if someone could fix the pic hosting issue, that's be really appreciated.

Edit: I didn't want to make a double post so I'm editing this one for thanking Hprelude5R for informing JLude about broken links.

I have my ballasts (Hella Gen III)'s as such:

Passenger side: bolted to the inner fender to the outside of my intake tube

Driver side: zip tied to the side of my ABS unit.

Ok, so I am almost done with my retrofits and all i have left to do is bake em in the oven to seal them again. I have a couple of questions about this process:
1)Is it ok to just seal them using whatever was on there in the first place?
2)Should I use something different than 250 degrees since I am using jb-weld (I am worried that they welds will melt)??

Thanks in advance and I will post pics after I am done.

Not really needed. As long as they are in the engine bay they should be protected from water spray. Just don't go blasting water around the front end of the car with the power washer and you should be fine.

I just reuse the old seals. So long as you didn't mess them up to bad when you detached the lenses there should be more than enough sealant left to reheat and clamp back together to create a good seal. I've done 5 sets of lights like this and never had anyone report a leak yet.

250 degrees will not hurt JB weld. that stuff is almost indestructible.
