Just bought my first lude!
Hey everyone. I just joined the forum so go ahead, call me a noob lol. But I've been a mechanic since I was 17, I started working on Nissans and went from them to dodge chrysler jeep, and now I'm currently a kia technician. But back to the lude. I was strolling across the lot about two weeks ago and saw this primed black Diamond in the rough setting in the bull pen. I went and checked it out and a guy traded in in on a Rio lol. But the body was straight, had aftermarket headlights and taillights, aftermarket exhaust, and intake. Got the key and took it for a spin. Has 187,000 miles on it. It started right up. But I heard the most awful sound from under the hood. The crank pulley was rattling so bad it was tearing into the timing cover. They were gonna scrap it but I got it for $800. I bought a new pulley and put a new keyway on it, new bolt, put red locktite on the bolt and torqued it to 181 ft lbs. Yes I did my research. But now it runs great! I've been driving it back and forth to work the last week. Yeah it needs some TLC. But you all know these cars better than me. And I was wondering if there was anything else I should probably replace while I'm ahead. I did a complete flush of every fluid the first day so we are set there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
