Is it just the old seals around the doors or is that a common issue with these cars that I haven't heard about before?
That is dependent on your region as far as moisture goes, but our cars being old it just happens as we are not sealed as good as the newer cars are.

Did you check the lower dash switch used in cold climates? Next to the fog light switch if you have fogs.

Ye ended up just being that switch aha thanks man I thought they cut some wires or something

Anybody know if an '88 2.0Si (without AC and cruise control) would come wired for those two things?

I've got a car with power locks, 4WS, and no AC or cruise... and a car with AC, cruise, and manual locks. Some weird optioning in my opinion.

It's hard to say, I didn't even know you could get an SI lacking those things. (I don't think you could in the U.S. anyways.)

Try popping out the blank A/C switch on the heater controls and see if a connector is stuffed back there.

The a/c cooling unit aka evaporator core box delete duct work is listed in the usdm parts manual. It will not show up though unless you put in a basic carbed lude version. I think I have seen a delete duct work. I wish I would of got it at the time. Yeah I have heard of several non a/c in brittish columbia and canada. If you get it swapped I will take that delete duct work Andrew if you don't want to keep it. I have not picked up a spare climate control at the bone yard yet. I want to get an 88-89 and with wiring clip harness pig tails. I got a 88-89 a/c switch several years ago brand new for cheap. I think the parts manual list either as an interchangeable part as in superceeded. But I have not confirmed the harness clip yet. It has been awhile and I don't recall if I have seen cruise delete.

I plan on success and if I do you can have the ductwork. I don't quite understand why you'd want it though!

Do you mean the piece that goes between the heater and the blower?
I need that for my AC delete!

the usdm ludes without ac or cruise did not come wired for them. Same with the door locks, power windows, and power mirrors. But I have found the yellow switch plug on non-ac cars, it is a pig tail from the heater control head not the vehicle wiring.

I didn't know that H23 rods are the same as F22 rods. That website lists the same part number for those. Opens up a lot more sources for upgraded rods for us if that's true, or just buy new ones from them.

Hey, New here, idk if I'm posting my question the right way but anyway, on the drive home today my car had problems with the idle, it'd rev to 2100 or 2200revs then drop back down to idle and do it repeatedly, any one else had or seen something like this before?

Classic bouncy idle. Yes, it's a common problem and there are many possible causes. Take a look in the FAQ sticky under Idle Problems for suggestions on how to determine what is causing the problem. Here's a link to the sticky...

Yes you are correct about the H23/F22 rods. But if you intend on using anything other than the factory rods for your engine, you will have to use a twin cam crank because of the rod journal size. The single cam engines used tiny rod journals.
