Question Auto Tranny Fluid @ 170K...Change or Leave?

I picked this '92Si up with right @ 170K.I'm going through it as far as
fluid changes,tune-up,ect...

From what I know, the car was maintained pretty regular but,not sure
about the tranny? The fluid looks good and has no funny burnt smells or
dirty/weird colors.

Just not sure if I should change it and the old tranny not like it.The only
odd thing it does is sometimes when you first start it and put it into gear,
it takes a second to jump into gear.Overall shifting it seems fine.I will
eventually swap out the motor and tranny to manual but, that will prolly
be next year sometime.

Anyway,what do you guy's rec?

I think it does not hurt to be on the safe side. If you change it you will have the peace of mind knowing it is good.

Haha! Yes,I know that all too well myself when I changed the auto
fluid in my g/f's Civic.Learning the hard way definitely sucks.

I saw a thread just recently where someone had problems after the
fluid change, and at 170K I didn't want to aggravate anything inside
lol.

I would leave it, after so many miles, I see a bigger chance of something going wrong after the change... Unless something is already going wrong causing you to want to do this... but what do I know, I'm just a teenage noobie babyy... wait, I'm almost 25, nm.

Right now I'll hold off since I'm only driving it 16mi round-trip.I hope to just swap it
out next year and not worry about an auto.
