SH to BASE

Hey guys I need list of parts that I need to do SH to BASE Conversion. The reason for it is because I installed some tokico blue shocks and it lowered my rear, but the front is high.... My ATTS is not working anyways, I am gonna do that conversion, buying all the parts that I need from part out....
I just dont really know what I have to change...

Thats what I am gonna do later, after engine rebuilt... I meant suspension parts.. Like, arms, spindles, and all that stuff.

Then why the hell my front end is rised? even after 2" drop it is same as it was. And that shocks were made for Base.

what kind of suspension setup do you have and how long ago did you put it on? A friend of mine did an SH to base swap, and had Tein Basics coilover setup, and he was dropped pretty low.

I got Tokico HP's (Blue) with its springs. I have it for two month now. My rear is pretty low, the way I like it. But the front I need at leat 1 more in ch of drop.
I didnt and dont have enough money for that kinda suspension setups yet.
And I dont think that I will keep it SH, cause after I rebuild engine I will be saving up for a turbo setup, nothing crazy but 20-30 horses and that Psshhhh sound that I love.

I'll just give you a heads yup, the SH to BASE conversion is a pain in the ass. Also you will need base axles or just the base left side axle.

Are you sure the springs are not flipped?

No they are not.


I guess it is better to just save up for some better suspensions. For now I will just rebuild the engine.

Get some Ground Controls and call it a day. By the time you get the parts you need, you'll be spending as much money (or more) than getting a full coilover system and have nothing to show for it other than a car that doesn't handle as well and can take 350whp, which you're not going for anyway.

There's a reason they put 3 ball joints on an SH and not on the base

Prelude of the Month
Coilovers wont work because when your lowered down, theres no shock travel left. Perches are different on the SH and Base. It'll work but be rigged. Been there done that.

did you ever figure out which part of the suspension actually causes the shocks to sit higher? is it the lower control arms or what, i was thinking the SH lower control arms have a higher mounting point then the base for the lower mount of the shock but i dont really know. just wondering if u knew.

V I am still not sure why you were having those issues with your car. As you know I have an sh as well and I never had any issues with ride height. Even back when I had the neuspeed sport spring and stock struts everything was fine. My car has been dropped ever since I bought it. Now i am running GC'S with 400 F/R spring rates and Koni Yellows and dropped with no problem and still plenty room for suspension travel.

However, I do sometimes wish I had a base front suspension so I could get that damn esp bar!
