Question Integra Clutch/Flywheel

So wasnt sure if i should revive my old thread or just make a new one...

Anyway i put the integra clutch/flywheel in the lude and i was under the impression that i was going to have to do some adjustments for it to shift properly. I started it today and it goes into every gear just fine there is a small amount of shimmy in the clutch pedal, Im just curious is the shimmy a result of not having done adjustments, or did i just get lucky???

It drives fine other than CVs need replacment and i have an exhaust leak but thats it (think im going to need a new header and downpipe).

Prelude of the Month

Based upon what I've read the teg clutch is taller so getting into gear is not possible without some adjustment...I would say your experience is not what others have reported.

Care to share specifics around what items you used?

ive also read that the integra TOB dosent fit, mine fit right on (90-91 d2a4). i put a nipple down there so when i press the pedal it dosent reach the floor. tryed it with out worked somewhat but went into gear poorly.

not sure on the d2j6 tranny as it uses a different year integra clutch then mine. I have the '90-'91 d2a4 and did no mods but install. I have to raise it to about 1100 rpm to engage. I plan to adjust the throttle stop screw but haven't done it. I tried raising the idle by the book and that doesn't work. its starts surging 1-2 grand. Did you get a sprung clutch?

we need more specs as said above.there is a difference in the 88-89 lude transmissions and the 90-91 transmissions. aka spline count and overall dimensions, if you have a 90-91 lude w a 90-91 tranyy then using the 92+ newer teggy clutch should have worked. i did this in my lude and the only issue i had was that iv i pressed the clutch to the floor then it wouldnt engage properly but if i kept my foot about half and inch to 3/4 of an inch from the floor it worked fine every time. i even used the 92+ tob

also;

that was a clutch comparison but they both appear to have the same diameter as far add i could tell. wouldn't that mean that if the flywheel works for both, and you have an 89 that ok assuming is running a b20a5. someone said something about the flywheel being taller which I'm guessing was meant to read thicker, couldn't you get the flywheel shaved down before installing to avoid issues afterwards?

Does anyone know of a high grade lightweight aluminum flywheel that will work for the b21a1

I had to read it three times before it made since. TOB= Throwout bearing. I think I used the one that came with the clutch. My flywheel is one piece cromoly and realy thin so maybe that has something to do with it. You can't mix flywheels between the two series of 3rd gen transmissions.

Sean just posted a thread should be on the first page or second on a prelude lightweight flywheel alluminum two piece. Or buy an integra fidanza.

Just looked as it was easy enough as he is on my friends list. He was last on march 22nd of this year but pretty sure over the last 2 years or so he has gone lot longer periods then that in the wind.

DA clutches can be used. you use a BA TOB and put a bigger stop behind your clutch peddle. also, you have to drill a alignment pin hole into the flywheel if you want to use a DA flywheel.

Okay so i took it out again and its smooth the clutch engages right before the clutch pedal is all the way out, and half way down there is a shimmy other than that it works fine, The only thing i can think of is the flywheel is so thin that it made up for the adjustments i should of had to do.

You fellow luders throw some questions out there because im not exactly sure what i should be looking for?

like i said it seems to work just fine....

Just wanted to update for all others that may search on this.

H22 flywheel does not fit inside the 3G bell housings.

b series twin disc yes was hoping to not be messing with the flywheel but its ok. although I may wind up with a spec stage 5 only because I can't get over how nice my current d2j5 configuration is for street driving considering its composition.
