Ecu?

I'm going to be running an H23 turbo around 280 hp. My question is if its worth it go go with something like an AEM full standalone, or something similar to the Greddy E-manage? I don't WANT to have to spend $2200 for something I might not take full advantage of. A friend of mine was going to sell me his Greddy E-manage Ultimate for $250 when I get the turbo pieced together after the swap. Obviously, that's a considerable difference in $. Any thoughts here?

You should buy a p06 ecu, chipped of course. ZIF socket, SST 27sf512 re-programmable chip, universal cn2 datalog port, removed j12 resistor so datalogging works if you ever choose to do so. Buy one from Motoxxxman he does all the job and the tunning too... I have my boosted h23 with 240hp and it runs safely and good.

eCtune, Neptune, Hondata, and AEM are all good choices. Beings your turbo'd, I would not go with greddy, but that's just my opinion.

I'm tempted to go with the Hondata S300, as it seems to have the most capability for what I want to do. The AEM, while it does everything, is just out of my price range. They're site is PACKED with info.....

you can find used series 1 units for 5 - 600 dollars all over...specially now that the series two units are out. You can run tuner on a series 1 unit as well, you just have set up all your sensors/wizards in pro and then open the cal in tuner because the sensor wizards are not compatible between the two.

If I wasn't in love with my AEM quite so much I'd sell you mine for pretty cheap, but I just don't wanna get rid of it quite yet...i love having full control over my engine

Nice I think the S300 by Hondata is only $525 or so, but its basically a standalone for specific applications. Part of me is like "go for it!", part of me says "just fucking save and buy an AEM"....so I'm going to let them fight it out and see who wins

I'm running a p06 chipped and modded to a p72....originally I bought the chipped p06 from motoxxxman without vtec and IAB hardware installed..(originally for my b20a)...

after H22 swap, I bought and added vtec and IAB hardware, then purchased ostrich 2.0 emulator, and hulog datalogger....then finally breaking down and buying crome pro.... which, in my opinion was worth it...and I am not by any means a "rich man"......in other words... its an affordable tuning option....and I got crazy power.... and I still have visions of a turbo in the future...........

Forgot all about Megasquirt.....I'll have to talk it over with the guy who is going to tune it for me to see what he's done. I'm pretty sure he's used MS a good number of times on various VW's that he's done.....it can't be much different for a Honda.

ok, costs..... give or take a few bucks here and there
---------------------------------------------
chipped p06... $200.. from motoxxxman
(Ostrich 2.0) ...$175.00
(hulog) ...$35.00
(VTEC-Conv) ...$19.00 .......(I already had the IAB hardware)
crome pro ...$120

$549 aint bad.,.... but if I would have had all this money up front.... there's no tellin what I would have bought......first,. I bought the ostrich and vtec conv .......and just used crome (non pro) until I could buy the hulog and crome pro......and it all worked perfect from the git-go

and thats basically where i'm at right now......about 3 months of datalogging under my belt, and i'm just scratching the surface.......

For such of a mild turbo build, take a look at AEM F/IC. I run it in my (currently stock) 5g/H22. Works nice.

I have a chipped P06 (P28 ) OBD1 ECU with a conversion harness for sale...now that I have my AEM I don't need it. I'd let it go real cheap.
