learn somethin new everyday
Remember in like '85-86 (When the 2nd gen fuel-injected model first came out) fuel-injection was fairly new and they wanted to make up a cool name, So they decided to call it Sport-Injection.
I know SI stands for sport injection, but in canada from 90 up we got SR instead of SI, I have yet to figure out what it means, I've herd sport racing but find that really hard to believe.

that acronym finder website kicks ass, you can find out what everything means. TSI = Turbo Sport Injection, GSX = dunno, LX = luxury... etc. (et cetera - and so forth, lol) I know this may sound stupid but I have ALWAYS wanted to know what I.E. stood for, i knew how to use it, but never really knew what exactly the "I" and the "E" meant. Man i feel so much smarter.
They actually don't know what the SS stands for. They only know that the company who funded Jag or whatever (started it maybe) was the Swallow Sidecar Company who made sidecars (duh) for cycles I believe.
Sport Injected? Damn, that's not a cool name. Do to status SI just sounds cool even if it doesn't mean anything. Thanks for the response. I didn't think it would go this far, but some of the posts are funny.
well, how can the lx stand for luxury when the ex is the higher class of car in the honda lineup? jw. and i think it stands for sport injection, but i dont think it has ever been clarified by honda.
