A lot of people do not re-torque the head bolts and it can be just fine. When I re-torqued the head bolts on both my ludes, I found about 1/4-1/2 turn on the B20a5, and the B20a3 had some seriously loose bolts needing more than a full turn.

None of my head gaskets have ever leaked or expressed any concern.

hey triple. i rebuilt my b20a5 and have about 600 good miles on it. ive been trying to break it in according to your "proper beak in thread" just wondering if i actually should re-torque my head. i think i did 50 ft-lbs when i built it, do i have to many miles on it to re-torque? to little? and what is the easiest way to get to the head bolts? completely pull the cams? (i plan to pound on this motor on the autocross track) thanks man-

Just wondering if you could look over this post i put up last week

    http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...917&highlight=

maybe you can give me some insight? Im pretty sure it might be something to do with the synchronization but id like to get someones expert thoughts before i pull off the carbs and start cleaning everything up.

Might it even be the coolant? Thanks for any help!

You can turbo a B21a1 if you rebuild it well. My experience with turbo is almost none. Originally, I wanted turbo but found some niches in the NA B20a5. Depending on your skills and time, you could do the same.

ohh well yeah but thanks. but i mean i have billions of questions but i guess to start off. what would you reccmomend me doing, i have a B21A1 engine & i want that shit to haul ass
should i turbo it or just swap it with a H22. i mean i dont have too much knowledge on cars but i know a couple of stuff & read by a post of you and some other guy that B21A1s werent meant to be turbod up but i didnt really understand why or how it wasnt "meant" to be turbod
i mean. plain and simple i just want my prelude to be as fast as possible.
or at least fast enough to beat my punk friends 87 toyota supra ..its not turbod up but it runs pretty good.
he never says what he does to it tho i just know its not stock nor turbo
