just curious
what was ur reason for setting the cam gears before the engine
is even running?

fliplude95
06-12-2009, 06:50 PM
i checked the clearance of the piston to valve with play dough.... the cams are so aggressive that if it set to zero... the intake valves is hitting the pistons..

How much do you have in this build...shoot me a PM...I'm deciding if I want to go turbo, but I dont really feel like dishing out $6000+ for a fully built motor and turbo setup...

My prelude is still my daily driver, just wanna have a lil more fun in it, but not make it terrible to drive.

http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq233/jesus_tajuna/1251422119.jpg
and this how she set for now, cause im still waiting for some part for the fuel line, i bented the oem fuel feed line when we were swapping the motor. im going to -6an stainless braided line from the fuel tank to fuel rail and fitted with earls fuel filter and gauge adapter. it should come in within next week and im going to take to Howard of RLZ Engineer in concord nc (sept 11th) to break in the motor and tune this beast up! stay tune!

here the update! the tuning went GREAT!!! HOWARD is the man!!! we use dyna pack. his dyno read low! im gonna re-dyno somewhere else and see what number i will come up with. i put down 210+whp on all motor (street tune). nitrous tune will be on later on!!! graph will be up soon!!!
im having an issue with hesitation between 2500 to 3500rpm but above that the car pull hard. any of you guys have a suggestion what could it be? im going to check the TPS tommorow and see if is faulty one......

H22Eludenu
09-15-2009, 08:59 PM
That is a sick build....haha once i save up money my build is going to be something like that. I dunno about them skunk2 cams though I've heard there not as good as the crower cams in a h22. What front lip is that? It looks sexy!!

Bryan R
09-15-2009, 09:23 PM
210? Man I was expecting at least 240. Hopefully when you fix everything it will be higher. Let's see some 0-60 vids!

fliplude95
09-15-2009, 10:44 PM
211.5whp to be exact. Every I know that went to RLZ, there
dyno number is low also. I'm going to re-dyno it to a dynojet and
see how much different the number. I'm very please of the result.
The motor is still break-in stage. There will be more upgrade like
3" exhaust, aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, (b&m that I have
is not working properly), and ESP traction bar. Video will be up soon
also when I work on the hesitation issue between 2500 to 3500rpm.

no point in wasting money on another dyno. Go to the track.

good idea! I just realized that's is just a number. I will take to the track soon.
I'm close to ZMax dragstrip anyway.

I have the same hesitation problem. If I figure it out I'll let you know. Will you do that same?

fliplude95

I have the same hesitation problem. If I figure it out I'll let you know. Will you do that same?

I will man! I think it my tps is doing this hesitation. I'm going to check tommorow.
Here's my check list I have about this hesitation
Tps, knock sensor, o2 sensor.
Cap, rotor, spark plugs and wire
Fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator
All the vacuum lines
Air filter

Bryan R
09-16-2009, 12:08 AM
Tps- possible
knock sensor- don't think so
o2 sensor- HIGHLY POSSIBLE
Cap- mine are brand new
rotor- mine are brand new
spark plugs- mine are brand new
wires- mine are brand new
Fuel pump- I don't think so. It wouldn't run as good.
filter- same as above.
pressure regulator- Possible
vacuum lines- possible
air filter- dont think so.

I'm throwing a code 41 which is the o2 sensor. My car bogs down at the same rpm range you said earlier. I'm pretty sure it's the map sensor. I tried my friends obd1 map and it ran perfect! Then the nipple broke and I put mine back in and it did the same as before. Try swapping your map and see what that does. Also what codes are you throwing?

Bryan R
09-16-2009, 12:10 AM
Also if you dont mind me asking, how much did you spend on this set up?

fliplude95
09-16-2009, 12:28 AM
I'm not throwing any code at all.

dk4ever
09-24-2009, 08:32 PM
Check all the sensors in your distributor. I had a lude that did the same thing. Found out the distributor was bad and threw off all the sensors.

to be quite honest, i have no idea why the torque curve like that!!lol im really happy with the result. i know there more into that motor, i just havent push it to the limit cause is still on the break-in stage....
