long story short, i went to turn on my car and i noticed the car just made a pretty quiet noise that im sure all ludes do b4 u turn them on. but then i went to turn the key and no crank, no start. i tryed it a couple more times and the same problem kept occuring. after 5 or 6 times turning the key, it starts up with no problem. also it hasnt happened again (this all happened 2 days ago) thats what gets me confused... i know the battery is good, could b starter related?? if any of you guys know anything please let me know

I had the same problem.
Mine was even slow at cranking.

Try the Ignition thing. then try the main relay.

:(
I did it backwards. I replaced battery, starter, ground wires, then the relay. Lost alot of money in that process.

Call, ask for service dept., give them your vin and ask if there is any open recalls that need to be performed to the vehicle.

It will save ya some gas if there isn't any open ones. Also if there is, they can get the parts ordered for ya if they don't stock them for the recall.

Definetly need that taken care of. Don't want to be driving your car and have it cut off on you. I "think" this is a safety recall (Mike?) because it could possibly cause your steering to lock-up while driving.

Yup it is a safety deal and that is why it is a recall instead of a T.S.B. (Technical Service Bulletin). When safety isat issue with a complaint that is common, that is what pushes it to a recall.

The process is kinda explained in the movie Fight Club, weird enough I know. When he talks about his job while looking at the burned up Lincoln shell.

Check the Neutral safety switch. The neutral safety switch will not allow cranking if the clutch pedal isn't down to the floor (5spMT) or in neutral or park (AT). If this switch is bad, then you will not get any crank whatsoever. On the 5sp this would be a "pin-switch" on the top of the clutch pedal, and on the AT I don't know

I am having this same problem. It wouldn't start from time to time but then after 1 or 2 tries it started right up. Now this morning it wouldn't and this afternoon it won't either even after tons of tries. the lights and radio come on but it doesn't even crank. I thought it might just be the cold but when it didn't work this afternoon I con concerned. Possibly the same problem??
